Unity presenters supports all 5 stages

Unity 101 radio presenters Srirupa Mukherjee, Zulfkar Snober, Meena Vashisht, Naveen Nayyar, Kamla Sharma, Preeti Nayyar and Faisal Javed compereed all five stages at the 9th Southampton Mela at Hoglands Park, Southampton. Ram Kalyan 'Kelly' and Aryana Vashist broadacsated live interveiws with the stall holders, performers and the people who attended the Mela.

Last year an estimated 25,000 people enjoyed various performances and activities from South Asia and around the world. The artist line-up includes leading Qawwali group – Khan Brothers, Rajasthani Brass Band, World Music, Steel Band and Bhangra artists - Roachkilla, Jeet (from The Family) and Navin Kundra plus an array of world music and dance from African Drumming to flamenco.

New this year is the Art Asia Stage Bus show – casing the best of traditional Indian music and dance. As well as the new there are all the popular favourites of taster workshops for children and adults. Stalls selling a range of goodies, two other stages show-casing local talent and the food court selling tasty food from around the world.
