The award was presented to Ram Kalyan the Station Manager of Unity 101 Community Radio at a glittering event held at The Novotel Hotel Southampton on Thursday 17th November for his work in making Unity 101 Community Radio Station a central part of the diverse communities in Southampton and surrounding areas. Through Unity’s work which focused on providing information, entertainment and trusted point of communication particularly for minority communities, this has had a significant impact on the safety of communities. In particular AFSA acknowledged the support that has been provided to the Fire and Rescue Service in achieving a joint aim of “Making life Safer”
