Unity 101 Annual Survey
Saturday 25 June 2011 17:50Four students from the Southampton Business School conducted a survey on behalf of Unity 101 Community Radio, speaking to 200 people representing a cross section of the community of varied faith groups.
63% of the people surveyed were aware of Unity 101 Community Radio and listen to it on a regular basis. The Indian community were the most avid listeners closely followed by the African community at 38%, and the Pakistani community at 15%.
The different avenues from where a listener comes to know about Unity 101 is through family, friends and word of mouth. Unity 101 Community Radio is truly a family radio station which encourages community spirit, and acts as a face of the community.
The Punjabi and Bengali community highly praise the presence of the radio station. As a community radio station Unity 101 targets a niche market, and has now increased its horizons by working with local colleges. A Youth Survey has highlighted that youngsters are getting more and more involved as they listen to shows broadcast from studios in 4 different colleges which were designed and built - and students trained - by Unity 101 Community Radio.
